Thank you to all the parents who came along to support their children in the performance. The children did a fantastic job, we are all extremely proud of them.

Super Sunglasses

As part of our science we investigated which materials would be best for making sunglasses.

Here are some of the sunglasses we made.

Why do you think we chose translucent material for the eye section?

Welcome to Year 2

Our topic this term is 'The Seaside'.

We have been very busy already, look at our photos below of our exciting wow day and our fantastic visit to Weston Super Mare.

                                    Seaside Wow Day

Weston Super Mare

We loved paddling in the sea, although it was pretty cold!

We worked together to create some amazing sandcastles.

A well deserved ice lolly at the end of the busy day.

Little Master Chefs

As little master chefs we decided to taste different breads. We thought about the texture, taste and smell and then reviewed each bread.

Surprisingly, lots of us loved the chilly one!

Trip to Snuff Mills

Year 1 and 2 went on an exciting trip to Snuff Mills.  We loved exploring the great outdoors, Marwan said it felt like the Amazon Rain Forest!

Miss Wilkins found some wild garlic, some of us really didn't like the smell!

We discovered an amazing tree that had been completely uprooted, it was exciting climbing up the hill to have a look.

Some of us enjoyed relaxing in the sun and making daisy chains.

Making cheese and cress sandwiches

We made our own plant pots out of newspaper and then planted some cress seeds.

Then we used the cress to make delicious cheese and cress sandwiches.

Book Week

Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed Book Week, we were particularly excited by our surprise visitors on Thursday.

The Gruffalo came to visit us, he was surprisingly friendly!

Andy from CBBC popped into our classroom with the jaw of a T-Rex, it was such a lovely surprise and some of us were so star struck we could hardly speak!

On Friday we dressed up as our favourite characters, can you spot Mr Bumble and Dodger from Oliver Twist?

Welcome Back to Term 4

This term we are studying the author Charles Dickens. We have read Oliver Twist, one of his most famous stories, and although we found parts a bit scary we loved it.

His collection of stories is one of our favourite books in the book corner!

Math's Week

In Year 2 we decided to decorate biscuits to sell at the Cabot sale. We were hoping to make a big profit as they were very cheap to make!

Our stall was extremely busy and we sold out of the biscuits within 5 minutes! Next year we will make double the amount.

During Friday assembly we sang a song to encourage people to buy our delicious biscuits, we think it definitely worked!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back and we hope everyone had a relaxing and peaceful break.

This term our topic is The Great Fire of London. The children are already very excited about this and are looking forward to finding out more.

Our text is called Fire Fire! and is based in the time of The Great Fire. This is a picture of us sequencing the story.
